Weekend of Racing 2018 Review

Once again Drogheda Wheelers’ team of race organisers and marshalls have put on what we believe was an exceptionally well run weekend of racing. Well done and huge thanks to all those who contributed.

Those of you who participated in any of our events (or perhaps parents of Rás na nÓg competitors) are invited to give feedback through a Cycling Ireland organised survey. You can do so by clicking on the following link

https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/5BQX68M

We are always striving to improve in a any way we can so we do hope as many of you as possible will take part. We look forward to hearing your opinions.

The survey will close on Sunday, 22nd April.

Boyne GP promoted by Drogheda Wheelers CC on Sunday 11th March 2018.

This year’s Boyne GP will take place on Sunday 11th March 2018. Racing will be on the usual 12km circuit (see below).

Sign on venue will be Ryan’s Pub Gormalough (5kms from Slane on the R163 Kells Rd). We are currently trying to secure an off road car park 1km from the sign on venue. We will update on progress as soon as possible.

Note

  1. No one day licences will be available
  2. Riders must have their full licence and numbers (pdf version on phone not accepted)
  3. The 110 maximum rider rule will apply in the A4 race. Should A4 entry numbers exceed this limit, two separate races will be held (with the prize fund to be split between both).

Sign on will open at 9:00am. To ensure rider safety it is necessary to stagger the start times.

10.33 A4 race 5 x laps 60km
13.00 A1 race 8x laps 96km

Vote for Rás na nÓg!

We’re delighted to announce that Rás na nÓg has been nominated in the “Best Competitive Event” category in the 2017 Cycling Ireland Membership Awards.

Now in its 10th year, Ireland’s premier youth stage race continues to give our young riders a chance to compete competitively on the road, many of them for the first time. This event is a breeding ground that allows our youth riders to develop, and helps propel them towards the upper echelons of Irish Cycling. The event is run by Ger Campbell in a professional and efficient manner and is a credit to cycling in Ireland.

Voting is now open on the Cycling Ireland Website and is open to all Cycling Ireland members.

And while you’re there, make sure to cast your vote for our neighbours Cuchulainn CC, worthy nominees in the “Club of the Year” category.
