The VeloRevolution-Strata 3 rider beat Darnell Moore (Vitus Pro Cycling), in the sprint for victory – these two having ridden clear of the group they were with on the penultimate lap. Feeley’s team mate Mark Dowling brought home the chasing group for 3rd place on the night.
Frst-year junior Maria McAllister of TC Racing was best woman on the night. Peter McLean of Ards CC was best of the A2s. Ciaran Dixon of Team Type 1 junior squad took the unplaced junior prize. This is a very important post for all riders, spectators and interested parties. Please read the following post carefully.
First and foremost, the entire club has worked extremely hard to ensure that these races can go ahead. There has been a huge amount of cancellations nationwide, but we have planned vigorously over the last few months to ensure that we can offer you this weekend of racing, for everyone, including youth cyclists.
*IF YOU ANSWERED ‘YES’ TO ANY OF THESE QUESTIONS, PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND THE EVENTS*
In addition, anyone attending is also required to read and adhere to the following guidelines, as laid out by Cycling Ireland. Failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in our elected Covid Officer asking you to leave the event: Guidelines for Participants
Peter Bidwell Memorial – Saturday, 25th July
PLEASE NOTE: The start time for the youth races is 3PM, not 10am as advertised on the ticket issued by EventMaster.
3:00 pm – U16 (4 laps – 26km) 3:03 pm – U14 (2 laps – 13km) 3:06 pm – U12 (1 lap – 6.5km)
ASSEMBLY: Riders are to make their own way to the assembly point at the finish line, which can be found at the checkered point on the route below. All riders are expected to be at the assembly point at 2:50 pm sharp. If you miss your group, that is not our problem and you will not be re-admitted to the race.
PLEASE NOTE: The start time for the senior event is 5:00 pm, not 10:00 am as advertised on the ticket issued by EventMaster.
5:00 pm – A1/2/3/4 (8 laps – 51km)
ASSEMBLY: Riders are to make their own way to the assembly point at Mullaghcrone Quarry, where the race will start from. It can be found at the green dot through the route link below.
There will be four groups, in order of category, and you will be assembled in that order at the quarry. All riders are expected to be at the assembly point at 4:50 pm sharp. If you miss your group, that is not our problem and you will not be re-admitted to the race.
RACE PARKING: All riders are asked to park at the Drogheda Retail Park and then ride to the assembly point. There is a link below which shows the directions from the car park to the race start. They are asked to immediately pass through the finish line and then ride to the car park once the race has concluded.
PLEASE NOTE: This race is not being held on the usual circuit. This is to prevent congregation in Donore Village. We are running the race on the circuit that we usually use for ‘The Coombes Connor Memorial’.
10:00 am – A4 (4 laps – 56km) 11:30 am – A1/A2 (6 laps – 84km) 11:33 am – A3/JUN (5 laps – 70km)
ASSEMBLY: Riders are to make their own way from the car parking facilities to the start line for assembly of riders. A4 riders are expected to be at the line for 9:45 am sharp and all other riders to be at the line for 11:15 am sharp for assembly. If you miss the start, that is your own fault and you will not be re-admitted into the race.
RACE PARKING: The car park for this race is located beside Bellewstown Racecourse. It is not in Bellewstown Racecourse and it is not the usual car park used for The Coombes Connor Memorial. You can find the correct car park/entrance by looking at the picture below. Below there is a link with directions from the car park to the race start (Don’t worry – it’s all downhill!) Again, we are asking that as soon as your race is concluded, please pass through the line and ride directly to the car park.
