Ciaran Connor Wins the Clann Eireann Lurgan Criterium

Ciaran Connor wins the Clann Eireann Lurgan Criterium Lurgan Park was the venue for this race. A field of ten U14’s lined up at the start. A mistake at the very beginning meant that Ciaran had to work hard straight away to get back to the leaders. He was back in the bunch after half a lap, then led over the line at the end of the first lap. Ciaran’s cornering skills showed as he gapped the field on the bends but they caught him on the long straights. He led nearly the whole race and closed down and chased every attempt that anyone made to get away. We thought there was going to be a lone winner, when coming to the bell, there was a monumental attack. Again, it was Ciaran that worked and brought it all back together. Then they all sat up waiting to see who would go next. Into the home straight and the pace picked up. A sprint finish after all of Ciarans hard work. Team Madigan went first, followed by Phoenix cycling, then Ciaran of DW followed by CCC rider.
Ciarans sprint was stronger and he came from behind to take his first ever win.
